How usage is counted
- What counts as an email?
- Each message you send through the API counts once, however many recipients it has. A batch counts once per message in it.
- Are sandbox recipients counted?
- No. Sends to addresses at sandbox.develemail.com are marked sandboxed and are not metered.
- What happens at the limit?
- The API returns 429 with a quota_exceeded error and an upgrade link when billing is configured. It is a hard limit with no overage billing.
